Our Story

With the help of our donors, we have sent spouses, mothers, fathers, siblings, and grandparents to their recruit’s graduation…one of the most memorable days of their lives and a day that they will remember forever. Each and every recruit deserves to have someone there to share their pride.

Behind the scenes the CGFAF is run by a small motivated team of volunteers, each affiliated in our own way with the Coast Guard. From our inception, we made a commitment to use every donation we receive to afford financial support to Coast Guard families. As such, one-hundred percent of your donations go toward helping the families. Every dollar donated helps and is greatly appreciated.

We simply cannot accomplish our goals without selfless support from people who understand the importance of the United States Coast Guard, and the unique role families play in Coast Guard life.

Why CGFAF?

I am just a mom who loved her daughter and was given the opportunity to be there to support her daughter on a very momentous day. Without assistance from CGFAF, I could not have been there. It is fantastic that people make donations to enable someone like me to be at a graduation. Graduation was fantastic. Hugged her to death after graduation. Being there was fantastic for her and for me. Thank you! Wonderful, wonderful trip and thank you so much for making it possible. She told me that she looked out at the moms there and it made her feel so happy because she knew I was going to be at hers.
