From a dad we sent to Papa 189’s graduation thanks to the donations our Coast Guard family has made….

“Thank you so much to you and the Coast Guard Family Assistance Fund at www.cgfaf.org. Without this help I would not have been able to attend my Son’s graduation from the Coast Guard basic training. I will give you a short story of my son. In 2008, my wife and his mother was diagnosed with brain cancer and given 6 months to live. As you can imagine, it devastated me and [my son]. They were very close. He was my support throughout this. She (we) fought through the Chemo, radiation, and countless surgeries. He would have done anything to save her. We fought on for two years before she passed. She NEVER gave up. Her strength lives on in my Coastie. And I know his mother was there with him.

I was blessed to remarry to another fantastic lady whom took to my son as her own. And was the driving force behind one of us being at the graduation. [My son] is a new daddy! His baby boy was born while he was at basic training. My wife was constantly updating the Facebook pages here for our Coast Guard families and moms. There was such an out pouring of love and support from this groups, they were truly an extended family. And now we are part of the Coast Guard family too!

I can never thank you enough.”

Thank you CGFAF donors!
