Two more parents sent to Cape May, New Jersey. There were two dads for two recruits; one on disability with four young children at home. He needed our help to see his daughter graduate boot camp. There was absolutely no money for him to travel to Cape May for her graduation from Zulu 189. Another dad had been unemployed for several months, had the promise of a job, but still had depleted his savings while he was looking for a job. He knew he wouldn’t be able to see his son graduate from Charlie 190. We were able to help both of them see their children graduate from boot camp.
A nice little aside to the unemployed father’s story happened when his new employer found out that he was attending his son’s boot camp graduation. The new employer paid for his travel to his new job as a “thank you” for his son’s service. Patriotism and love of our country is alive and well!
