BRAVO 205 – Mom there for daughter’s graduation
“Thank you so very much for the assistance with attending my daughter’s bootcamp graduation. We are very grateful for the opportunity. I can’t even begin to imagine not being there for her on this special day. It was very emotional and an extremely positive life change for our family. She is very happy with her Coast Guard Bootcamp experience and looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks again.”
ALFA 205 – No bus ride to the airport for this new Coastie
“Attending graduation meant everything to us. Early on in boot camp he told his shipmates that he’d be riding the bus home after graduation because no one was going to be there for him. I know he was down about it for several weeks. I can’t imagine how hard it must’ve been to work towards a very important day in your life and feel like you’re all alone. When I told him I was coming thanks to this fund, I could hear his voice change. He sounded hopeful and more excited to graduate than ever. Not much will beat the feeling of being there to hug him once he was dismissed from his company. I got to witness the happiness and pride he felt as his shipmates thanked him for being such a good leader. It was truly and once in a lifetime experience, and I am so thankful to this fund for letting me be there for him.” Sidenote: Her spouse received the Leadership Award.
